Apelle's Twist
Apelle is the protagonist of an Italian tongue twister.
Apelle, son of Apollo, made a ball of chicken skin and all the fish rose to the surface to see the ball of chicken skin made
by Apelle, son of Apollo.
In the same way Apelle did with the chicken skins, I created
a ball made out of pieces of fabric sewn together on which
I printed images of 8 different male bodies.
The ball contains me and protect me, it becomes an armour and a new body, but at the same time it constrains and suffocates me.
Apelle's Twist was realized for the exhibition Perfect Patio
held in 2013 at Space Station 65.
Music composed by Nicolo' Rold.
